Today, the Taxi Charity is holding its annual Christmas lunch for war veterans. Approx. 150 veterans and over 100 veterans' guests will be attending a slap up lunch in the Executive Suite at Millwall Football Club.
In addition to the lunch, volunteer taxi drivers will be running a ferry service to Millwall FC from London Bridge and Waterloo station taxi ranks. Also, at London Bridge, there will be Millwall's Routemaster bus to take guests to the ground.
This year's guests of honour include Vice Admiral Peter John Wilkinson CB CVO, National President of the Royal British Legion; John Crisford, National Chairman of the Royal British Legion, Bill Speakman VC and Ted Pieri, who recently raised £1700 for the Taxi Charity by doing a sponsored parachute jump with the Red Devils.
