On 7 December 2017, the Taxi Charity held its annual Christmas lunch for war veterans. As in previous years, the event was held at Millwall Football Club and a wonderful time was had by all. An 89 year-old World War II veteran who undertook a charity parachute jump has raised money to help other veterans take flight. Edward ‘Ted' Pieri, who turns 90 next May, donated £1700 to the Taxi Charity after jumping from a plane with the Red Devils, 70 years after first gaining his wings. Today, the Taxi Charity is holding its annual Christmas lunch for war veterans.
