Photos from 75th anniversary of the George Cross and George Medal

On Thursday 24 September 2015, volunteer black cab drivers from the Taxi Charity were asked by the VC & GC Association to escort war veterans around London for the 75th Anniversary of the George Cross and George Medal.

The drivers picked up a number of veterans from the Union Jack Club and took them to the King George VI Memorial, where there was a short service and laying of wreaths. From the memorial, they then drove the veterans to the Royal Hospital Chelsea for the main 75th anniversary event. All 43 recipients mustered for individual presentations by HRH The Duke of Kent of a specially commissioned commemorative coin set.
