Dutch Embassy team raises funds for Taxi Charity

The British Embassy in The Hague team has once again taken part in the annual Wandeltocht in Arnhem, raising funds for organisations in both the UK and the Netherlands that help honour and remember those who fought for our freedom during the Battle of Arnhem, while also supporting veterans.
This year, the Embassy team raised over €300 for the Taxi Charity for Military Veterans in recognition of the charity’s work helping veterans travel to the Netherlands each year to take part in commemorative events.
Keith Allan, Deputy Ambassador at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, said:
“We have once again chosen to support the Taxi Charity for Military Veterans in recognition of the incredible work you and your fellow volunteers do to ensure veterans can travel to the Netherlands each year to take part in commemorations.”
The donation is particularly appreciated by the Taxi Charity, whose volunteers work throughout the year to make it possible for veterans to return to the Netherlands for important commemorations, including, commemoration the Liberation of the Netherlands, Wandeltocht and Operation Market Garden.
The Deputy Ambassador also thanked the charity for its work supporting veterans and looked ahead to the Taxi Charity’s return to the Netherlands in 2027.
The Taxi Charity is hugely grateful to the British Embassy in The Hague team for choosing to support its work and for continuing the special friendship between the Netherlands and the veterans who return year after year to remember those who fought for freedom.
