On Thursday 24 September 2015, volunteer black cab drivers from the Taxi Charity will be escorting war veterans around London for the 75th Anniversary of the Inception of the George Cross by King George VI.

On Thursday morning, the drivers will be escorting 50 or so veterans and family members from the Union Jack Club to the King George VI Memorial, where there will be a short service and laying of wreaths.

From the memorial, they will then escort the veterans to the Royal Hospital Chelsea for the main 75th anniversary event, organised by the VC & GC Association.

In the afternoon, they will be taking the veterans to Westminster Abbey for another short service and wreath laying at the Victoria Cross and George Cross Memorial.

The day will end with the veterans being escorted back to the Union Jack Club around 4pm.
