On 9 May, The Ship in Wilmington held a family fun day to raise funds for the Taxi Charity. Hosts Mick and Tina Bannister created a fantastic atmosphere, to make this a special day for families and supporters alike.

From the brilliant live set from local band Midnight FM getting everyone in the mood, to the DJ keeping the hits coming all day, the entertainment was first class. Add in the glorious weather, ice-cold beer, excellent food and the chance to get up close to vehicles from WWII, it really was a day to remember.

It was also wonderful to see several veterans, who are supported by the Taxi Charity, spending time talking and engaging with the crowds, who came along to support this fantastic fundraising event.

A huge thank you to everyone who generously donated raffle prizes.

Local supporters included:

With the bar staff rushed off their feet and Taxi Charity volunteers chipping in to help, the day was a huge success, raising over £1,200.
