Distinct Distillers supports the Taxi Charity for Military Veterans

The Taxi Charity for Military Veterans is incredibly grateful for the support and friendship shown by Distinct Distillers, a unique distillery based in a historic WWII underground fuel depot in Shropshire.

Inspired by the history of their remarkable site and the sacrifices made by wartime generations, Distinct Distillers created their commemorative 1944 D-Day Dark Rum and VE-Day Gin to honour military veterans past and present. Even more importantly, for every bottle sold of their D-Day Rum and VE-Day Gin, the distillery generously donates £2 to the Taxi Charity.

The partnership between Distinct Distillers and the Taxi Charity means a great deal to everyone involved with the charity. As a small charity that relies entirely on donations and fundraising, this support helps us continue providing transport, events and memorable trips for veterans, including our D-Day and Arnhem commemorations.

Located on a site originally commissioned by the Ministry of Defence in 1938 to store aviation fuel for RAF bases during WWII, Distinct Distillers has carefully transformed the historic location into a working distillery while preserving its wartime heritage.

In 2024, the Taxi Charity had the pleasure of visiting the distillery and meeting the dedicated team behind the business. Their passion for remembering the sacrifices of WWII veterans and ensuring their stories continue to be shared is clear in everything they do.

We would like to thank everyone at Distinct Distillers for their generosity, friendship and ongoing commitment to supporting our veterans.
