A partnership that gives veterans peace of mind

The Taxi Charity is incredibly fortunate to have the continued support of the London Ambulance Service. Their commitment goes far beyond providing medical cover – their crews give veterans, volunteers and families the confidence to enjoy every trip, knowing expert help is always close at hand should it ever be needed.
Whether accompanying our annual seaside outing to Worthing or travelling with us on overseas remembrance visits to the Netherlands, Belgium and France, London Ambulance Service staff generously volunteer their own time to support our veterans. Their professionalism, kindness and reassuring presence make an enormous difference and have become an integral part of many of our events.
For some veterans, particularly those in their nineties and beyond, the knowledge that experienced paramedics are travelling with them means they can continue taking part in journeys that might otherwise feel too daunting. It allows them to reunite with old comrades, visit places of great personal significance and create new memories in complete confidence.
The relationship between the Taxi Charity and the London Ambulance Service has grown into a valued friendship built on a shared commitment to caring for those who have served our country. We are sincerely grateful to every member of the Service who gives their time, expertise and compassion to support our veterans year after year.
