The Taxi Charity for Military Veterans would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to our good friends and talented Dutch photographers, Arjan Vrieze, his wife Liesbeth Vrieze, and Daan van Oort, for their continued friendship and support during our visits to the Netherlands.

Over many years, Arjan and Daan have captured countless special moments from our commemorative trips through their remarkable photography. Their images beautifully document the warmth, remembrance and emotion shared between our veterans and the Dutch people, helping preserve these important memories for generations to come.

Throughout each trip, Arjan regularly shares photographs on his Facebook page, allowing families, supporters and followers back home to feel connected to the commemorations as they happen. His photographs perfectly capture the spirit of the visits and, in recent months, he has also generously assisted British newspapers by sharing images to help tell the veterans’ stories to a wider audience - something greatly appreciated by both the Taxi Charity and the veterans themselves.

Speaking about his passion for photography, Arjan says: “In my spare time, you can almost always find me with a camera or two around my neck. I combine photography with my other hobbies such as gliding, historic aviation, Airborne and World War II history, nature and more...”

We are incredibly grateful not only for Arjan’s talent and generosity, but also for the warm friendship and kindness shown by both Arjan and Liesbeth to everyone involved with the Taxi Charity over so many years.

We would also like to give special thanks to Daan van Oort from Oosterbeek, who has supplied us with many beautiful photographs, particularly during our annual visits for the Airborne March each September.

Alongside his photography, Daan is an experienced dental technician who has developed training programmes and books for teaching dental techniques. He also lectures in dental photography and is the author of the first Dutch book on Digital Dental Photography. In his limited spare time, Daan enjoys photographing life in and around Oosterbeek and has published books featuring the area. Whenever the veterans are visiting, he is always keen to capture those precious moments whenever he can. Many veterans and carers already treasure his photographs from over the years.

The Taxi Charity is deeply thankful for the friendship, generosity and dedication shown by Arjan, Liesbeth and Daan. Through their photographs, the memories and bonds created during these important commemorations will continue to be remembered and shared for many years to come.
