This year in May, the London Taxi Benevolent Association will once again be taking a large band of World War 2 veterans back to the Netherlands to join with their Dutch counterparts in remembering the events that took place there 70 years ago.
Europe is a very different place today and we should never forget the contribution of those who gave so much at a turning point in European history.
As a patron of the LTBAFWD, it is a privilege to be associated with this event and I pay tribute not only to our veterans but also to the London taxi drivers who give up so much of their own time to support them.
