Taxi Charity to attend Founder's Day at Royal Hospital Chelsea

A number of Taxi Charity veterans and committee members have been invited to this year's Founder's Day at the Royal Hospital Chelsea on 4 June.

Founder's Day is the highlight of the Royal Hospital Chelsea’s calendar, an event attended by all Chelsea Pensioners, which celebrates the founding of the Royal Hospital by King Charles II.

The event has taken place almost every year since the founding of the Royal Hospital in 1681.

This year's royal guest is the Duke of York, Prince Andrew.

At 10:30am, there will be a parade where all the veterans will march past Prince Andrew, who then 'inspects' them and reads out awards and medals.

VIPs then head to lunch in the governor's marquee and everyone else goes to the College Court area by the National Army Museum for entertainment and drinks.
