Health & Safety Officer

Linda Baker

Linda Baker spent her entire working life at the same law firm in the City of London, joining as a Personal Assistant at the age of 18 and remaining there until she retired.

Outside of work, fitness has always been an important part of Linda’s life, and she also loves to travel. She has been fortunate to visit some wonderful places, including New Zealand, with its breath-taking scenery, and the beautiful Greek island of Skiathos.

Her father, WWII veteran Don Turrell, has been travelling with the Taxi Charity for about 17 years and she always hears first-hand how much these trips mean to him.

Linda's first trip abroad with the charity was for the Dutch Liberation commemorations in May 2025. She says: “It was an experience I'll never forget.” Since that first trip, Linda feels fortunate to have been invited to attend many of the charity's events.

Linda says: "It didn't take long for me to understand why Dad always looked forward to being with the Taxi Charity. The drivers and volunteers are an extraordinary group of people whose kindness, generosity and dedication make every event truly special. Being part of the Taxi Charity is a privilege and I've made memories that I will always treasure."

Linda joined the Taxi Charity committee in August 2026, taking on the role of Health and Safety Officer.
