Ambassador

Ben Mayne

Based in the Midlands, Ben is a battlefield historian and guide with a particular interest in the Second World War, specialising in Normandy, Commando Operations and the Battle of the Bulge. Over the years he has escorted thousands back to the battlefields of Europe. This includes helping families return in the footsteps and visiting the final resting places of their loved ones.

Ben has been a friend of the Taxi Charity for many years and was asked to become an advisor in September 2022. In October 2024, he was asked to become an ambassador for the charity.

Ben said:

"It has been an honour to support the charity in an advisory role for several years. It's now a privilege to be asked to continue this in an ambassador role. I look forward to supporting the charity, the chairman, the veterans and other volunteers in the coming years. Sadly, as we lose our Second World War veterans, it is even more important to ensure the charity is there to support veterans from other conflicts as we move forward. I hope to continue to play a role in the superb work that the charity has done for many years. Long may it continue."

Away from history, he is a Ducati owner and a Moto GP fan.
