Born: Hoxton, Shoreditch, 1954
Early Life: Brought up in Hoxton within a large, slightly mad but wonderful family, Susan was educated in Hoxton and Tottenham and obtained a BSc in sociology and healthcare from City and East London Poly.
Working Life: Susan worked for Islington social services with the elderly and young disabled, in various roles in the area teams, day centres and residential homes. She finished the knowledge in the eighties and became a licensed London taxi driver.
Charity Work: Susan is a founding member of the Rendevous Club for the young disabled and has been involved in the disabled Scouts, various different women's forums and disability forums and has sat on committees within social services in a voluntary and a paid capacity. She has also been involved in disability rights, independent living and access to all, and has been a school governor.
She has been a member of the London Taxidrivers' Fund for Underprivileged Children (LTFUC), first as a driver then as part of the committee. Susan has also driven for the Taxi Charity.
Interests: Family, friends, listening to music, reading, concerts, art galleries, cinema, travelling, walking and people. Susan believes in a hands-on approach to life.
