"Your taxi drivers were very efficient and always friendly with a real sense of humour" -

Liz and I are now back home in King’s Lynn, resting after our very busy but very memorable visit to Normandy for which we must thank the wonderful Taxi Charity.

The detailed planning must have been enormous and very time taking.

The travelling arrangements were super and your taxi drivers were very efficient and always friendly with a real sense of humour.

We found Ossie, our driver, to be a good friend as well as excellent driver. He was always helpful and looked out for us. He eventually dropped us off at the Union Jack Club after a very late and what must have been a tedious night drive. We are very grateful to him and parted the best of friends. I must mention our first day in Normandy - the morning at Pegasus Centre - when the sun shone the whole time. It was very special for me because I was presented with my medal from the Legion d’Honneur.

I was especially privileged to receive my award from the French General in the Sword area of D-Day hostilities where i was active for the early time of the invasion. Yours sincerely,

Alec Knibbs
